Welcome to our 2023-2024 school year!  As the proud principal of Kelso Elementary School, I look forward to a year of successful interactions between you, your scholars, and our school.  Kelso’s staff is committed to providing your scholar with a rigorous education, different experiences, and development of the whole child.

 

Our highly qualified and devoted staff are dedicated to fulfilling the goals of our school’s mission, “ensuring all scholars develop strong academic achievement through an enriched, diverse and challenging curriculum, which utilizes the latest technology in a safe, supportive environment that nurtures positive cultural and social values.”  College and Career Readiness begins at Kelso!

 

This mission is driven through my leadership vision, “To cultivate and empower open-minded leaders who use meaningful data as a team to guide instructional decisions and provide rigorous and meaningful experiences with equitable and high expectations.”  It is my desire that all scholars achieve at their true and highest potential.

 

Emphasizing the whole-child approach to teaching and learning, the school’s award-winning Positive Behavior & Supports (PBIS) initiative is highlighted by Kelso’s PRIDE core values: Positive attitude + Respect + Integrity + Diligence = Excellence.  Kelso has once again received the Platinum Award from the California PBIS Coalition for its school-wide PBIS initiative. Way to go Cheetahs!
